Rip Red Rift guide: Durable Rush tank with real damage

Rip is one of the best early and late tanks, although his Rush-driven performance drops sharply against single bosses.

Chapter 01

Rip overview

Unlike many tanks, Rip adds meaningful damage while absorbing pressure. The Glutton combines with Nyx's repeated Rushes to produce enormous max-health totals from either the field or reserve. His active self-sustain route can cover both tank and damage roles in normal encounters.

Chapter 02

How to use Rip

Game plan

  • Pair The Glutton with Nyx or another source of repeated Rush triggers.
  • Use his self-sustain route when the team wants one hero to tank and deal damage.
  • Keep an alternate boss carry or tank ready because bosses limit his Rush refreshes.

Items

  • Stack max health, ideally on items that also provide defense.
  • The self-sustain route strongly values an effect that heals a percentage of max health on ability cast.

Positioning Use him on the frontline in normal encounters, but reassess the formation and damage plan for each boss.

Source limits His multi-enemy dominance can hide much weaker single-boss damage and Rush uptime.

Rip upgrades

Rank B cards and A/S pools are current to Demo 0.5.5. The guide itself remains tied to the older video patch; notes appear only when the video covers a choice. The active self-sustain route is flexible and can support two additional damage or support slots. The Assassin-flavored route is normally passed over.
